If you have lived in Seattle long enough, you have probably seen AM 1090 go through many phases. Most recently 1090 was playing classical music as KING AM. Radio ever pauses if there is a need in the market and as of this month, the station will become The Patriot KPTR. The Patriot is a commercial radio station in that will air a conservative talk format and is owned by iHeartMedia. KPTR is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM stations in the U.S., and is a Class B station.
The station will air shows from famous conservatives like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. It will likely appeal to an older demographic that is also probably watching FOX News.
